Karlson featured in The Times

Innovation and continuous improvement are central tenets of our business philosophy, which is why we gave our full backing to the MCA Award for Innovation this year. The winner, selected from a broad range of strong entries, was Nesta in partnership with Private Public Ltd (PPL) and the Innovation Unit (IU). Together they are reshaping how the NHS interacts with patients and communities – saving millions and making a tangible difference to patients’ recovery.

‘People Powered Health’, the concept behind the initiative, is simple, intuitive and goes some way to alleviate the NHS’s tremendous burden. The Times newspaper picked up the story today and explained the impact that this approach to healthcare could have:

“It is estimated that the NHS in England could save £4.4 billion a year by adopting ideas that involve patients, families and communities in the management of long-term health conditions, by reducing hospital admissions and outpatient appointments.”

As a managed print specialist our business is clearly worlds apart from Nesta, however we do share their commitment to innovation and congratulate them for such a convincing award win.
